Susan ShofnerCaptain Centaur XXVI
Susan and her husband, Bobby, are former Charter Members of the Krewe of Centaur, having served as the first membership chairmen. Susan has served on the Board of Directors, as Co-Captain of the Bal, and as Events Chairperson. In addition, she has been active on many committees and an involved rider of the Sumner Float.
Captain Susan is the mother of two adult sons, Ryan and Shane Williams, and three step-children, Denny, Patty, and Bobby, Jr. She is proud to be Nana to her 12 grandchildren!
Our Captain is a retired educator, having served Caddo Public Schools for 32 years as a teacher, middle school principal, and grant-writer. She received her doctorate in educational leadership from Louisiana Tech University.
Since retiring, Susan has devoted her time to family, community projects, and her beloved Krewe of Centaur. She served as the Race Chair of the 2015 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Captain Susan is honored to serve the members of the greatest Krewe ever for the 2016-17 year and hopes you will all join her in embracing her motto, “Forever Centaur!”
Robin EnkeyBal Chairperson
Robin joined the Krewe of Centaur in 2003 and served on the Golf and Events Committees and on the Board of Directors as Public Relations Chair in 2006, Royalty Chair in 2012 and Events Chair in 2013-2014. Robin was the 2012 Duchess of Fantasy and was elected Queen Centaur XXIV for the 2015 Mardi Gras season, a year that will remain one of the best for her and her family. After being elected once again to the Board of Directors in 2015, Robin returned to her former role as Events Chair for the 2016 Mardi Gras season. In 2014 Robin was awarded the prestigious David Yount award for her dedication and contribution to the Krewe of Centaur. Robin has been employed at Budget PrePay, Inc. for 4 ½ years as the Director of Compliance and also serves on the Universal LifeLine Telephone Service Board in Sacramento, CA. Robin rides on the Enkey float alongside her husband and the float’s Lieutenant, Eric Enkey. She is actively involved with the float, helping to design the float’s theme, specialty beads and cups. Robin and Eric have been married since 2003 and have one daughter, Lydia, who is a 2nd grader at Kingston Elementary.
Brian HammonsCo-Captain and Parade Chairperson
Brian has been a member of the Krewe of Centaur since 2003. In his 13 years, he has served on the board of directors and proudly served as King Centaur XXII. He has chaired the golf tournament and has also served on the parade committee for the last 10 years and multi-tasked in multiple areas in putting the parade together. Brian has always been a rider on the Gentry float.
Professionally, he is a home builder and a member of the Northwest Louisiana Home Builders Association. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in South Bossier with their two furry, four legged children, Bailey and Lucy. In his spare time, he likes to travel, hunt and spend time outdoors.
Neil KalbergGolf Tournament Chairperson
Being a member of Centaur since 2009, my wife, daughter, and son-in-law ride the former Suzie and Larry Ryan Float of which I am now Lt.. Currently serving on the Centaur Board of Directors, I’ve served on the membership committee, parade committee and golf committees. Being a retired Tool & Die Maker from A.T.&T./ Alcatel Lucent, I served as IBEW 2188 Vice President, Executive Board Chairman, skilled trades committee chairman and attained a Business Management College Degree. Currently my wife and I own and operate a mold die polishing business, I serve as Blanchard Poke Salad Festival President, belong to the Free Masons and El Karubah Shrine Temple Fraternity.
My wife Judy and I have two daughters, one being Tiphanie Chism a school teacher married to Paul Chism with one daughter, Gracie that is also a Centaur member.
The youngest daughter is married and an Attorney with five children.

I have been a member of the Krewe of Centaur since June 1999. I have been very active in the Krewe since riding in my first parade in 2000. I have been involved in new float construction, worked as float lt. And have worked very hard in making our bead room something to be proud of.
I have served on the board of directors for the past 7 years. It has been a great experience to be involved in the inner workings of the Krewe and i hope to continue to work for you in making our Krewe the best in Louisiana.
Married to past captain Dana Bridges for 33 years. We have 3 children Kristen, Amy, and Brandon who have all served as prince and princess and duke. We have 4 grandchildren Makenzie, Braylin, Braxstin, and Ambri. I am employed as the assistant chief for the Haughton police dept. And have been in law enforcement for 34 years.

I have been a member of the “Mighty Krewe of Centaur” since 2001. I have served on the Golf Tournament Committee, the Grand Bal Committee, and the Events Committee. I was a Lieutenant for 5 years and served as the Lieutenant Coordinator on the Board of Directors for 2 years. I currently serve the Krewe as its’ Treasurer. It keeps me busy but I have enjoyed it so far. I have been married to my husband, Ed, for almost 38 years and we have one son. He is married to Mick and they now have our first grandchild, Emery, born in October, 2015. I am retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years. I really enjoy playing Bridge and Mah Jong each week. The Krewe of Centaur and its’ family are a very important part of my life. I fully intend to be a member for many years to come.
Kevin MalecFloat Maintenance
My name is Kevin Malec and I am 35 years old. I have been an electrician for 15 years and have been with Wilhite Electric for 10 years, as well as a member of the Local IBEW Union 194 for 15 years. I’ve been married to my wife, Melissa, for 8 years and we’ve been together for 15 years. I enjoy hunting and fishing and almost anything outdoors. I love spending my time with family and friends. I am a lifelong LSU and Saints fans, even when they give me a heart attack!
I have been in the Krewe for 14 years and currently ride on the Middlebrook float. I was LT. of my float for 8 years. This is my second term serving on the board and I am in charge float maintenance for all of the floats in the Krewe. Throughout my years in the Krewe, I’ve been involved in most all of the committees at one time or another. I love my Krewe family and am honored to be part of the Almighty Krewe of Centaur. All Hail!!
